Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains what data is processed when you use CalcSmith, what privacy choices you have, and what is never collected at all. The short version: the calculators collect nothing — this policy covers the small print around them. Last updated: November 2026.

Calculator data: none leaves your device

Every calculator on CalcSmith runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. The figures you type are never transmitted to, stored on or logged by any server. There are no user accounts and no database of calculations. When you close the tab, the numbers cease to exist.

Data we collect

Cookies

The calculators themselves need no cookies. The site may use technical cookies necessary for operation and, where applicable, third-party measurement and advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; all calculators will keep working.

Hosting logs and retention

Like every website, CalcSmith is served from hosting infrastructure that keeps short-lived security and diagnostic logs: your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of each request. We use those logs only in aggregate — how many people visited, which calculators are popular — and never to build a profile of an individual visitor. For example, a spike in visits to the mortgage calculator tells us to improve that page; it tells us nothing about who visited it.

Email correspondence

If you write to [email protected], your message and address are processed only so we can reply. We keep enquiry email while your question is open and delete it within 12 months of our last reply. We never add correspondents to a marketing list, and there is no newsletter to unsubscribe from.

Your rights

Privacy law gives you specific rights over your personal data: to access it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy in portable form. Because CalcSmith holds almost none — calculators store nothing, and the only records are hosting logs and any email you have sent us — most requests are answered by confirming exactly that. Write to the address on the contact page and we will respond within one month. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes, and we never will.

Children's privacy

CalcSmith is a general-audience site of arithmetic tools; it is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, of any age. In practice, the design protects everyone equally: nothing typed into any tool is transmitted anywhere, so there is no children's data to collect, store or delete.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and the date above.
